This past week The Church of Jesus-Christ of Latter-day Saints released the first 13 hymns and songs in advance of a new hymnal. Reactions have been mixed among members of the Church. I, too, have had mixed reactions to the chosen hymns and some of the reharmonizations of old favorites that will now be included. However, I don’t think anyone can truly deny the power of the Spirit that is contained in these new releases.
I’m currently working on marking these selections for organ accompaniment in the style of Carol Dean. As the drafts are completed, they are being linked to via my facebook page. Please take a look and provide any feedback you may have.
