What I’m Playing: February 15, 2026

Prelude:
The King of Love My Shepherd is from The Essential Dale Wood by Dale Wood
Behold, the Great Redeemer Die free download available here by Harold Stuart
Our Savior’s Love from The New Organist Volume 4 by Brent Jorgensen

Congregational Accompaniment:
1023 Standing on the Promises. I played the entire song as the introduction, as it’s the first time we sang it in our ward. I tweaked a few things, and I’m hoping to make my version available soon. There’s still a section I’m not happy with that I want to work out first.

185 Reverently and Meekly Now. I used Franklin Eddings’ introduction available here for free (the site isn’t loading for me right now, I’m not sure if it’s still functioning as I downloaded mine years ago).

1011 Holding Hands Around the World. Daniel Kerr has shared an organ adaptation for this hymn available here for free (with many others) that I tweaked a bit. For the introduction I played pickup to measure 9 through 16, then measure 19 to the end, and I also used it as the congregational accompaniment for both verses.

143 Let the Holy Spirit Guide. I used Rulon Christiansen’s arrangement from WardOrganist.com for the introduction using measures 1-4 and the first beat of measure 5, then the skipped to the second beat of 11 and played through measure 12.
After playing a suspension and some non-harmonic passing tones in the last measure of the second verse of the hymn, I started at the beginning of his arrangement for the interlude, then played through measure 12 as a last verse harmonization.

Postlude:
When Peace like a River Variations from Postludes on Hymns of Faith and Assurance by Franklin D. Ashdown.

Hopefully these help you! All of these recordings are played by me on my home organ. Leave a comment and let me know how you treat these hymns!
